NORTHERN IRELAND - The Smoking (Northern Ireland) Order. Effective from 30th April 2007. Requirements: It is against the law to smoke in enclosed and substantially enclosed places, public places and certain vehicles.
WALES: The Smoke free premises etc. (Wales) Regulations 2007. Effective from 2nd April 2007. Requirement: Comprehensive ban on smoking in all enclosed places throughout Wales.
SCOTLAND: The Smoking, Health and Social Care (Scotland) Act 2005. Effective from 26th March 2006. Requirement: All premises in Scotland must display and complete these signs conspicuously in all Scottish workplaces and commercial vehicles. Size used must be 230mm x 160mm or greater in size.
All signs in this section conform to the Health & Safety Signs and Signals Regulations - BS 5499-1. In addition to being government compliant, our 'No Smoking Signs' also follow the recent recommendation for the signs to have black text on a white background, since this greatly enhances readibility as opposed to the original white text on a red background.
