NORTHERN IRELAND - The Smoking (Northern Ireland) Order.
Effective from 30th April 2007.
Requirements: It is against the law to smoke in enclosed and substantially enclosed places, public places and certain vehicles.
Signage Requirement: Must display signs at each public entrance toa ny work or public place. No smoking signs should also be displayed in public and business vehicles.
Exemption: Clearly marked bedrooms in hotels, guest houses, inns, hostels, care homes and prisons.
In addition to being government compliant, our 'No Smoking Signs' also follow the recent recommendation for the signs to have black text on a white background, since this greatly enhances readibility as opposed to the original white text on a red background.
